sabit@terminal:~$
Learn Linux and Git by actually using them.
No experience required. Your first mission starts with a problem inside your own terminal.
sabit@terminal:~$ cat how-it-works.txt
You watch the instructor. Copy the command. See the expected output. Then you're on your own.
You’re given the problem first.
You investigate.
You try things.
You make mistakes.
You use hints when you’re stuck.
And eventually, you solve it yourself.
Everything happens right inside your own terminal.
Start with the basics. Keep going until you can figure things out without being told what to type.
Now the instructions start disappearing.
50 missions. You learn Git by working with history, mistakes, collaboration, and recovery, not by memorizing commands.
Stop being afraid of the repository.
Take your first snapshot, stage only what matters, write commits a stranger can understand, read history, ignore the noise, and undo a mistake without panic.
Capstone: turn a messy project into one clean release.
Branches are just pointers.
Branch, merge, and survive a real conflict. Pause work mid-task, reset, and fix your last commit, then learn what is safe to rewrite and what is already shared.
Learn the difference between not yet shared and already shared.
Work with other people without breaking their work.
Clone, meet origin, fetch before you touch anything, pull, push, and handle diverged history and pull requests.
Incident: ship your feature.
Find out what happened, and who changed it.
Search the log, find deleted code, use blame and bisect, choose between merge and rebase, squash messy commits, cherry-pick, and tag releases.
Incident: production broke yesterday.
Get back what you thought was gone.
Use the reflog to recover deleted branches, escape a detached HEAD, undo a rebase, rescue a single file, survive a force-push disaster, and clean a secret out of history.
Incident: everything went wrong.
